Scale & Scale Label Finder
Find the Right Scale and Scale Labels
Choose the scale type, capacity, legal-for-trade requirement, connectivity, label-printing needs, and label format. The finder will compare live Spartan POS scales and, when applicable, matching scale labels.
Your Live Scale and Label Matches
The finder compares current Spartan POS scales and, when applicable, scale labels.
Need Help Matching a Scale or Label?
Send Spartan POS the scale model, serial number, software, capacity, connection, current label part number, roll measurements, and clear photos of the scale and label roll. We can help narrow the exact configuration.
Scale and Scale Label Selection Guide
This finder helps customers compare label-printing scales, POS interface scales, price-computing scales, counting scales, bench scales, shipping scales, parcel scales, floor scales, platform scales, legal-for-trade scales, CAS scales, Ishida scales, and replacement labels for supported label-printing scales.
How to Choose a Business Scale
Label-Printing Scales
Label-printing scales combine weighing, product lookup, price calculation, barcode printing, and product labeling. Depending on the model and software, labels may include price, weight, PLU, barcode, dates, ingredients, allergens, nutrition information, lot details, and traceability data.
POS Interface Scales
A POS interface scale sends weight to compatible point-of-sale software. The exact interface, cable, protocol, software setting, legal-for-trade approval, capacity, and division size must match the application.
Price-Computing and Counting Scales
Price-computing scales calculate an extended price from weight and unit price. Counting scales calculate quantity from a sample or known piece weight. These are different workflows and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Bench, Shipping, and Floor Scales
Bench and parcel scales are used for cartons, packages, receiving, and shipping. Floor and platform scales are used for heavier products, drums, pallets, and industrial loads. Capacity, platform size, indicator location, washdown needs, and installation requirements should be confirmed.
Legal-for-Trade Scale Requirements
When a customer is charged based on weight, the scale generally needs the appropriate legal-for-trade approval and must be installed and placed into service according to applicable local requirements. Approval, calibration, inspection, sealing, and service requirements vary by jurisdiction and setup.
Scale Label Compatibility
CAS LST-8000, LST-8010, LST-8020, and LST-8040
These are common CAS scale-label families, but the label family alone is not enough to guarantee compatibility. Confirm the exact scale model, label dimensions, roll construction, core, labels per roll, roll direction, gap or black-mark sensing, adhesive, and print layout.
Ishida Scale Labels
Ishida labels should be matched by the exact scale model and required media specification. Similar-looking rolls may differ in width, length, sensing marks, core size, roll direction, adhesive, and number of labels per roll.
Blank vs. Preprinted Scale Labels
Blank labels allow the scale to print all variable information. Custom preprinted labels can include logos, colors, borders, handling instructions, or fixed text. Custom labels normally require artwork approval, minimum quantities, and longer lead times.
Permanent vs. Removable Adhesive
Permanent adhesive is common for packaged foods, grocery, deli, and retail products. Removable adhesive may be appropriate for selected containers or short-term applications. Surface material, moisture, refrigeration, freezer exposure, temperature, condensation, and handling can affect adhesion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy labels based only on the scale brand?
No. The exact scale model and label specification are required. One manufacturer may use several label sizes and sensing methods across different scale families.
How do I identify my current scale labels?
Check the box, roll core, packing slip, or existing part number. Also provide the scale model, label width and length, core size, labels per roll, roll direction, gap or black mark, and clear photos.
Does a legal-for-trade scale arrive ready to use?
Not necessarily. A scale may have the required type approval but still need correct installation, configuration, calibration, inspection, sealing, or placement into service.
Will the finder recommend both a scale and labels?
Yes. When label printing is selected, the finder can show a live scale recommendation and a matching scale-label product when the catalog contains enough model and label-family information.
Can Spartan POS help with calibration and legal-for-trade service?
Spartan POS and BizTracker support CAS and Ishida scale sales, repair, calibration, and legal-for-trade work in the Tampa Bay area. Service availability and requirements depend on location, scale type, and setup.
